“There is always some madness in love. But there is also always some reason in madness.” – Friedrich Nietzsche
“Heartbroken” illustrates the emotional game of love.
Given the premise of the existence of stormy moments in a relationship, the observer remains unaware of the events that preceded the scene.
Unlike the “Cave of Lovers”, in Von Strassburg’s work (where the circular shape refers to the simplicity of love) it is in this darkness and in the dark corners that all its evils are hidden.
This image presents itself as a distinct scenario, an allusion to the interior of the human being, where the heart is wrapped in enormous curtains that allow little light to pass through, acting as filters and masks that hide the true feelings of a subject. This work reflects on such love adventures, focusing on recovery after a catastrophe, something that is the responsibility of the other emotions, which work to restore the object to its original form.
However, given the lack of strong foundations, the possibility of such an event occurring again remains in the air.
